Dependent

When the Son of Man
was Dependent on ...........
As I was getting ready for work this morning.
I found myself thinking about when Jesus was dependent on sinners.
Upon looking up the word in the Dictionary.
Dependent means to rely on another
for support; to rely
Yet even God's son "Jesus" chose to
be Dependent
Think about it someone without sin is suddenly dependent upon sinners.
Well the first time was the birth of Jesus.
Think about it Jesus had to learn to sit up, crawl, walk.
Well needless to say these are just a few of the many
things that Jesus was dependent upon sinners to help him with.
The next obvious time is when Jesus was
on the Cross.
Ah come one you remember
the Cross is where Jesus shed His sinless blood
for YOU and for ME!
For
there was
no other
way.
After all
GOD LOVED US THAT MUCH
GOD IN HEAVEN
GOD ON THE CROSS
One turns HIS BACK
The other sheds HIS BLOOD
After all
there
was no
other way.
What about the spreading of
the Gospel?
You Know God's Word.
AH Yes once again the SON
OF MAN WHO
KNEW
NO SIN
WAS DEPENDENT
upon mankind
to tell others
the Plan of Salvation
Ah yes the word DEPENDENT
Then I found
myself thinking.
Okay I must admit
pondering it is me
who
is DEPENDENT
on God
It is me
who is
DEPENDENT
on Jesus
It is me
who is
DEPENDENT
upon the
Holy-Spirit
It is me
who is
DEPENDENT
upon the
Written Word
It is me
who will
say that
my strength
comes from
God
Yet
it's God
that's
DEPENDENT
upon
SINNERS
to
SPREAD THE GOSPEL
BUILD CHURCHES
DISCIPLE
LEAD OTHERS TO JESUS
AH yes
DEPENDENT

LOVE OF GOD

LOVE OF GOD

As I look to the left to the right I see God’s love.

It is painted in laughter I hear a smile on a Grandma’s face.

Its funny how Grandparents work.

When they are just parents it is typical for the son or the daughter as the case may be to hear both yes and no.

When they become a Grandparent suddenly their love is different.

They get all the favorite things for the grandchildren.

Its common to hear just don’t tell your MOM and of course the child is going to say I am going to do just that.

Cause in the Child's mind I want you to bless me and you wont feel good if you don’t bless me.

Kind of makes me wonder where they get that idea.

Then I find myself stopping and thinking that God knew the book of Revelation before He chose for there to be a beginning.

To begin simply means to create, start, implement, however whenever there is a beginning there must be a finish line.

What is so interesting that God knew the order that the verses need to be in.

The written word is a gift from God to His sons and daughters.

After all God remembers everything that He has ever spoken and will ever speak to every one of His sons and daughters.

Regardless how mankind acts nice or mean, an act of friendship or a hate crime the choice is left up to mankind.

Not that mankind chose for it to be that way but God chose it that way.

Yet it makes me stop and wonder because God created mankind to worship Him.

We should have an intimate relationship with Him to always thirst for more.

Yet God took His love so far to the point regardless of how mankind treats Him He simply says I love you.

With God, He sees one or the other.

This is my child who last prayed (you fill the date in) or this is my creation that I long to welcome to the family.

The angels are waiting to have a party.

There is nothing that will hurt God quicker.

Than someone who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior, yet for whatever the reason may be they chose not to be close to God.

More than anything God longs to hear every son and daughters prayer.

He even silences all of Heaven just to hear your voice.

In the meantime God waits and longs just to hear your voice .

As much as He longs to hear your voice.

He just simply says it would not be God's love if he or she didn't have free will.

God made the choice to give everyone free will.

Just as a child wants to be spoiled by his/her grandparents.

God wants to do even more but it all begins in prayer.

The best thing about the Bible is that God works according to His written word not mans word.

There is a difference.

Regardless of your choice God gently whispers I LOVE YOU .

I can’t wait to hear from you.

Love,

GOD

Journey Begins.........

Journey Begins with God’s First Choice

In the Briticanna the definition for journey is to travel from one point to another.

Yet it goes back much father than that.
So just where did the journey begin? With every journey there will be choices made along the way.
But have you ever stopped to think about God’s first choice.
God has and will always be on His throne. He placed the scripture in the order that He wanted it to appear.
Ah yes, the Bible pure perfection.
He impenitently left out 18 years of Jesus life for a reason that is to remain a mystery to mankind.
God will always be God and well man will always be man.
Perfection verses no perfection.
So again I ask the question where does a journey begin?

For me the journey began a long time ago.
Way before Away in A manager would be sung or talked about in Bible stories, devotions, and ah yes Church.
Yet the same one who was in a manger for you and for me was right beside His Father when God made His first choice.
Have you ever stopped to take the time and ponder on what inspired God to make a choice.

Throughout the years God has made so many choices and my Heavenly Father will continue to make choices.
Then I remind myself that my Savior the one who was bruised for my transgressions. The same Saviour who was persecuted for my sins.
That is the one who lives in my heart which is just the right size.
The same one who ministers to me on a daily basis.

He conquered death that I might live.
Yet one of the names of Jesus is Firstborn (Colossians 1) and it is beyond my comprehension. Just to know how deep His love went for you and me.
So again I ask the question where does the journey begin for you?
For God the journey began a long time ago.
Does it start with Genesis 1:1 or did God make choices long before that.
Again God is the unveiler and it is important to recognize that.

For the Ladies

I went to Biltmore Baptist this morning.
It was a sermon that I needed to hear.
In the sermon it compared men to women

Fact:
Women are more verbal than men
Its easier for women to learn foreign language than for a man
The average woman speaks 25,000 words a day
The average men speak 12,500 words a day
Men think mostly using the right side of the brain
Women can multi-task because women use both sides of the brain

The text for the sermon was Genesis 2: 18-25
Women are to be corresponding to men

My favorite point of the sermon is:
-Women are to be corresponding to men
-God brings the woman to the man
-God fashioned every detail, every aspect of the woman.
-God fashioned every detail of everyone (Psalms 139)

Mercy

Throughout the years God has always blessed me.

Its easy to see Gods handiwork when things are going your way.

Its another to see Gods handiwork when your in a valley.

Friends have come into my life for a reason.

The lessons that God used them to teach me.

I used to wonder if they knew any other words.

After all regardless of the circumstances/situation they would just say Mercy.

If I was in a good mood they just simply said Mercy.

When I got knocked down they said Mercy.

Now don't get me wrong after all they picked me up.

In short regardless of the scenario they just said Mercy.

I must admit it was a lesson that I didn't learn overnight.

Long story short Mercy does indeed cover a lot.

God's Mercy is new every morning.

Good or bad God still loves you.

Bad or good God still loves you.

Even in the darkest of dark places God is there.

'Lo I am with you............

As my friends would say "MERCY!"

Jesus is carrying you.

Oh how they wait to hear your voice.

Your value comes from God

Every good n perfect gift comes from above.

Lo I am with you

Regardless of what you might be facing.

Remember He gave His everything.

Cause He cares

Jesus shed His blood for Y O U!!!!!!!!!!

The Holy Spirit longs to speak to you.

HE GAVE HIS EVERYTHING FOR___________________________________

God wants you to fill in the blank.

God waits on you.

In Process

In every area, every walk of life there are so many beginnings.

For some it may be getting married.

For others it may be walking by faith.

For others it may be the first decision they made on their own.
For others it could be moving out on their own for the first time.
Ah yes, independence.
In my life there has been so many beginnings.
There was the first time I took my first breath after all that was a beginning.

The day would could come when I would able to crawl.
Later on I would stand up on my own.
As time would have it not long after that I would try to take my first step.
As time progresses I would begin to grow.
Before you know it I am beginning to learn to ride a tricycle
Then a very big day would come I would go to kindergarten now for me this was a big.

After all everyone was going to fall in love with me so I thought.
Well as luck would have it I was wrong.
It was not long before I realized that my perception of things would not necessarily be the perception of everyone else.
There’s a number one question that regardless of the year still continues to be asked even today.
Something about this old aged question that deep down tells me it will be asked tomorrow.
If there is one thing about your life that you could change what would it be?
Well needless to say depending on the person is going to depend on your answer.
I have found it to be interesting that even though mankind continues to ask this question.

There is one person who will never ask this question and of course that is God.
The older I have become the more I realize that I don’t know the things I once knew.
In short I will always be in process.

My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.” (Isiah 46) NIV
Then I find myself saying it’s all about beginnings.

Words of Wisdom

WORDS TO LIVE BY

People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway

If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway.

If you are Successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway

If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; be honest and frank anyway.

What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway.

If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway.

The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway.

Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.

You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you
and them anyway.

Blessings in Disquise

This morning I had my oil change.
I must admit that it was just a little behind.
Okay it was overdue for an oil change.
I decided to take it to a new place.
After listening to my Father brag about his oil change.

I decided to give it a try.
I sure am thankful that I listened.
When I walked into the room I felt a sense of warmth.

It was just so good to listen to the conversation.
After all it was about the written word.

I always enjoy going places where I feel at home.
Even though today was my first time there.
The owner has a way of making you feel at home.
So the next time you need an oil change.
Go to Rogers Lube Express
and be sure an enjoy a cup of joe while you wait.
You'll be glad you did.
For you will feel right at home.

The following is what the owner put on the sign:
FORGET ME
YOU'VE LOST
NOTHING
FORGET GOD
YOU'VE LOST
EVERYTHING

Best Decision a Person can Make

Father, I am a sinner
I realize now that Jesus died on the cross for my sins.
Jesus chose to die for me because Jesus loves me.
From the resurrection on the third day
Jesus conquered death and was able to defeat Satan
For it is written in your word Father that if I profess the name of Jesus
and ask Jesus to come into my heart.
That Jesus will hear me and come into my heart.
Father, I am not perfect for I am a sinner
I realize that my heart is not big but Jesus please come into my heart.
Jesus please forgive me of my sins.
Thank you Jesus for hearing my prayer.
Thank you Jesus for coming into my heart.

The next step is to go to a Bible based Church.

Begin to Read the Bible.
The Book of John is a good place to start.

A Vessel

God has indeed blessed me with a wonderful friend.

She moved up here from Atlanta.

It didn't take long for us to become friends.

After all she has such a sweet personality.

At work we did Secret Santa

Needless to say I think I got the best gift of all

Its a book about being a Godly Woman

Allow me to set the stage for you

This past fall sometime in August I got the rug pulled out from neath me

It taught me to have a new dependency on God

After all there is nothing like not knowing what to do except to keep my eyes on God.

I was blessed with Godly men and women who just loved on me unconditionally.

After all we all need that.

As my Uncle says we all need prayer.

OK I need prayer.

I used to love to reach out to the hurting and broken hearted.

Suddenly it was gone.

All I knew was to cling to God for dear life.

After all God had never left nor forsake me.
That is one of the promises that God made just to me.

Night after night I read the same verse
It was just 1 verse
Of course this verse was committed to my memory
Yet I picked the Bible up and read the verse
"The LORD is my shepherd I shall not be in want."
Psalm 23:1

I continued to grow spiritually.
I started a blog shortly after the incident happened in August.
Walls continued to come down.
As the walls came down it was as if God Had said "Eyes on God, Continue the journey."

"Eyes on God, Continue the journey."
I spent time crying about what was once in my heart because it was no longer in my heart.
"Eyes on God, Continue the journey."
So much that I didn't understand.
So much to learn.

"Eyes on God, Continue the journey."
Well lets hope your getting the picture.

Which brings me up to my Christmas present that I got on Dec 28, 2008.
As soon as I started reading it.
I started crying on the inside at work.
Not very professional but I felt the Holy-Spirit speaking to me as I read.
I was so thankful for how God used my friend from Atlanta to be a vessel.

We didn't meet until October 27,2008
That's the day before my salvation birthday.
This year I'm 18 years old as Gods daughter.

God started speaking
The more I read the more I felt the Holy-Spirit speak
Oh some things may have changed.
But you see my friend is very humble.

Then today at work she asked me if I got the bookmark.
I said yes.
She left the bookmark on my desk on December 29,2008.
Guess what's on the bookmark?

PSALM 23

Still the only thing my friend from Atlanta knows is that God used her.
Just between me and you I'm glad I met her in October.
I'm even more blessed to have her as a friend

The Sound of Christmas

Ah if only the Sound of Christmas could stay just a little longer.
Complete strangers wishing each other Merry Christmas.
Instead of hearing foul language you hear praise.
Ah the smiles you see on so many faces.
Then I read a bumper sticker "Help keep Christ in Christmas"
The car behind it said "You can't spell Christmas without Christ."
Then I found myself thinking why not keep those bumper stickers on all year.
Why does the cheerfulness have to only be a short season?
Whose to say that it has to end?
Why not continuing speaking words of encouragement?
Whose to say that it has to end?
Why not continue to reach out to help others?
Whose to say that it has to end?
Does it have to end?
All I know is :
One Birth changed History
Jesus never sleeps nor slumbers.
Jesus came to pay
a debt that
He did not owe
Because Mankind
could not pay
the debt
that we owed
Jesus still:
Loves
Accepts
Forgives
Minsters
Heals
Gives Grace
Gives Mercy
After all the
one thing that
Jesus never did
was to make a
MISTAKE
Yet its
Jesus
who says
I FORGIVE YOU
3 powerful words that changes so much
Jesus
still
says
I LOVE YOU
This Christmas
make it a point to include
Jesus
Who Knows you
might just hear
Jesus saying
"Thank you for
including me."
"My Father sends
His Love"
MERRY CHRISTMAS

Just an Old Pair of Shoes

I went to a Christmas play last night.
Something I heard last night really stuck with me.
Allow me to set the stage

A man has a dream that Jesus will be coming to see him on Christmas Day

Needless to say He speaks to everyone the following day.
After all He wants to meet Jesus.
Just to talk with Jesus face to face.

Oh what that would only mean.
Well in a way that's what prayer is like.
Regardless of whether your in a good mood or not.
That doesn't matter.
Jesus just wants to hear your voice.
Cause He cares
After all He shed His Blood for YOU.
Cause He cares

One person is cold He gives them a cup of coffee.
He proceeds to tell that person Do you know Jesus?
He is coming to visit me today.
The person drinks the coffee and continues His journey.

Next comes an old lady.
He offers her kindness.
After all its Christmas Day.
Cause He cares.
He proceeds to tell that person Do you know Jesus?

Before he can continue.
This old lady tells it exactly how it is.
Son, when you get old, people just discard you as an old pair of shoes.
Just an old pair of shoes.
She says.
That's how they treat you.
Just an old pair of shows I tell you

He asks the question again
Do you know Jesus?
He's coming to visit me today.
Old lady walks off and says
Just an Old pair of shoes I tell you

Upon hearing that I found myself thinking its easy to have that mindset.
After all God gave mankind freewill
God waits just to hear my voice.
Jesus silences all of Heaven to say Listen......

There are 24 hours in 1 day.
7 days a week.
52 weeks in a year.
Yet I do not pray every second.

Then I thought Jesus shed His blood just for ME.
After all He never sleeps nor slumbers.
I'm alive today because of God, Jesus, and the Holy-Spirit.
Jesus knows exactly how many breaths I will actually take.

Yet Jesus still continues to love ME for me
Cause He cares

No wonder this man is so thankful that Jesus is coming to visit Him.

Sometimes it seems like Jesus just continues holding his stick drawing one circle in the sand after another.

Always knowing
Always loving
Always accepting
Always forgiving
Always giving grace
Always giving mercy
Always being there
The list is indeed infinite........................
Cause He Cares

Out of the Mouths of Babes

The following is from the play "RACE TO WIN"

This is a musical play. It talks about where a persons eyes are focused on
God vs World

WE'RE JUST A WRECK
Just when you think you've got it together
And you're really on a roll
Just when you think you've got it together
And sin is under control
Just when you think this time you're gonna win
That when it grabs you and pulls you in
You sin again and again
We're just a wreck waiting to happen
Sins spins us out of control
We thought we had it whipped
Then we make a slip
Flipped upside down in a cloud of smoke..............
Well needless to say the writer of this song has it.
The writer of this song knows the only perfect person that walked the face of this Earth is Jesus.
Hate to tell you this is true for all mankind.
The only exception is Jesus.
The writer of this song also knows that Gods love is for every one.
Simple yet profound.
True of all mankind.
Take heart:
God still loves
God still gives grace
God still forgives
God still welcomes people to His family
God's Mercy is new every morning
God still cares
God is infinite
Get the picture.
Simple yet profound.

Practice

This past Sunday our Church celebrated our Annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
While the Adults ate we provided their entertainment.
After I signed 2 songs their musical program began.
Just as they practiced the musical I had to practice also.
One of the kids had brought her cousins.
They arrived while I was practicing the songs in sign language.
As luck would have it they knew some signs.
One of their friends has down-syndrome.
He uses sign language to communicate.
As I listened to their story I couldn't help but feel the Holy-Spirit.
I explained that sign language is not just for the deaf.
People use sign language to communicate that have Autistic as well as Down-Syndrome.
Then one of the girls told me they have been practicing the song"Jesus Loves Me" in sign.
For they want their friend to know Jesus does love him.
Even though they've been practicing the song awhile.
They asked me to show them how to sign a couple of parts of the song.
They just wanted their friend w/Down-Syndrome to know that Jesus does love him.
How right they are.
Then we practiced signing "Jesus Loves Me" together.
What a blessing it was just to hear them talk about the love of Jesus.
I was able to show them the part they didn't know.
If I had not practiced that door never would have opened.
I found myself thinking "Out of the mouths of babes..."
The children performed their musical program.
They did a wonderful job.
As they were performing, I found myself thinking what a blessing they are to the Kingdom of God.
"Out of the mouths of babes..."
Simple yet profound.

Person of the Week

This person got knocked down a lot.
He refused to give up.
Every time someone knocked him down.
He got back up as soon as He could.
He would be the first to tell you
God is His strength.
People continue to read about him today.
I remember it as if it was yesterday
how God used him to impact my life.
One of his most famous sayings was:
"We could be just like them under circumstances."
That saying has helped me so much.
Years later God used him to
stretch my faith.
I must admit that I have fallen back on it a lot.
He had such wisdom.
He left a legacy that still impacts people today.
During one of the most difficult times our Country
has faced He was President.
Yet, he refused to judge.
He would just say
"We could be just like them
under different circumstances."
Then he would walk off.
So simple, yet profound.
God indeed blessed him
with the gift of wisdom
and so many other gifts.
"Every good and perfect gift comes
from above."
I never had the opportunity to meet him.
I did have the opportunity to go to
the Lincoln Memorial.
Person of the Week:
Abraham Lincoln

Words of Wisdom

Regardless of where a person is on their journey.
For life is indeed a journey.
Every journey begins with a step.
This is a passage that spoke to me while I was on break.

Scripture:
Psalm 84
LORD God All-Powerful, your temple is so lovely!

Deep in my heart I long for your temple,
and with all that I am I sing joyful songs to you.
LORD God All-Powerful,
my King and my God,
sparrows find a home near your altars;
swallows build nests thereto raise their young.
You bless everyone who lives in your house,
and they sing your praises.
You bless all who depend on you
for their strength and
all who deeply desire to visit your temple.
When they reach Dry Valley,
springs start flowing,
and the autumn rain fills it with pools of water.
Your people grow stronger,
and you, the God of gods,
will be seen in Zion.
LORD God All-Powerful,
the God of Jacob,
please answer my prayer!
You are the shield that protects your people,
and I am your chosen one.
Won’t you smile on me?
One day in your temple
is better than a thousand anywhere else.
I would rather serve in your house,
than live in the homes of the wicked.
Our LORD and our God,
you are like the sun and also like a shield.
You treat us with kindness and with honor,
never denying any good thing
to those who live right.
LORD God All-Powerful,
you bless everyone who trusts you.

Simple Messages Part 3 cont...

Today at work I noticed one of my friends shirts.

It said the following:

One Message

One Method

One Mission

I found myself thinking how true.

Simple yet profound.

I found myself adding the Following:

One God

This has withstood the Test of Time.
Lives continue to be changed by this One Birth.
One Birth Did Change History

Power of Prayer

Being on a budget is not always easy.
I have learned that even when you are on a
tight budget.
It is possible to bless others.

This past Summer we had a Garden.
We came up with our own Irrigation System.
Which proved to be a blessing in disguise.

I remember it as if it was yesterday.
As I plowed in the garden I prayed.
Praying over the seeds and plants as they were planted.
Even when I watered the plants I was praying.
Every step pf the way I was praising God that it was His land.

What I did not realize I was praying out-loud.
Well not until Daddy stopped me and asked if I was Pentecostal?
The answer to that would be no.
However I'm God's Child.

I'm convinced that Prayer was the difference.
As a result many others were blessed from the Garden.
God truly blessed us with so much food.
With the economy the way it was I found myself more thankful.
I'm convinced today everything that came out of the Garden was because of God and God alone.

With cost of gas prices this Summer.
It was not uncommon to see people only buy what was needed.
Angel Food ministries has also been a blessing.

Simple messages

I first found this message in a Christmas card.
Simple yet profound.
The words on the Christmas card are as Follows:

"He came to pay a debt
He did not owe
Because we could not
pay the debt we owed."

Again so simple yet profound.
This words have withstood the test of time and so much more

On the Lighter Side

As I have mentioned in some of my previous blogs.
I have started a new job.
Brief description I answer questions regarding their Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance policy.
The person that seats beside me has a sense of humor.
As we was learning a new system.
for some strange reason I kept forgetting to click on coverage.
My friend would just say "Yvonne, we just got killed you didn't click coverage."
How right he was in the beginning.
Needless to say clicking on that is one of the first things I do.
Right now I have an A in the class.
Just so you know we have 5 different systems to go between.

But my friend is so right.
I must admit I started thinking of coverage.
Then I realized that God has it all under control.
"And lo I am with you..."
How true that is.
When a person needs comfort.
God has it covered.
When a person is week.
God has that person in His loving arms.
When a person needs to be ministered to once again.
God has it covered.
God is always on time.
Never late, never early but God has it covered.
Don't worry about being perfect.
God has it covered.
God sent His Son for YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

Thankful

I was on my way to work when I saw something that made me think.
A SUV changed lanes and had the license plate "THANKFUL."
Once again I found myself thinking about that on and off today.
I have so much to be Thankful for after all God has blessed so much.

Then I found myself thinking "What is God thankful for?"
These are just a few of my thoughts.
Again it is my thoughts.

"God's Thankful for:"
-person that asks Jesus in His or Her heart
-a person that seeks God's face
-a person that surrenders to God
-a person that is obedient to God
-a person that makes the time to study God's word
-a person that takes the time to pray
-a person that chooses to minister to another person
-a person that chooses to encourage another person
-a person that chooses to fast
-a person that longs to hear God's voice

These are just a few that came to my mind that God is thankful for.
Remember God is thankful for YOU!

Sayings that makes me think

Not long ago I started a new job.
I must admit I enjoy where I work.
I'm learning so much.
There are days that it seems like I'm a sponge.

One of the persons training me has a saying that always makes me stop and think.
She just simply says "It is What It is."
I must admit hearing that has really made me think.
Regardless of the words a person speaks or thinks.
God just simply says "I love you."
Regardless of how a person acts.
Jesus says "I shed my blood for you."
Whether you are a blessing to others or not a blessing.
God says "I love you."
God's love is indeed a love I may not always understand.
I guess my trainer is right.
"It is what it is."
Regardless of the situation or circumstance.
God has love for you.
You are the apple of God's eye.
"It is what it is."
God is on His throne.
God is always at work.
God never sleeps.
Mankind has value because God gave mankind value.
"It is what it is."
God's love for mankind is unconditional.
"It is what it is."

Person of the Week

God has blessed me with so many people.
I must admit He is a blessing to so many people.
He has such a love for the Teenagers.
He has gone on Missionary trips back to back.

His wife has indeed been nothing but an inspiration.
Her insight has indeed been profound.
She is indeed a Proverbs 31 lady.

God has used the Associate Pastor to lead many youth to God.
After all is that not what its all about.
Person of the Week
Associate Pastor Tim Owns of Pinnacle

Just like Jesus

Got a story for you.
When Jesus received word that John the Baptist had been beheaded. He was hurt.
Jesus just wanted to go and pray.
Once again the crowd spotted him.
Instead of Jesus praying to his Heavenly Father.
He did the Sermon on the Mount.

The Senior Pastor reminds me of that where I go to church.
His wife is in a lot of pain.
Still they minister.
Now it is the Church's turn to minister to them.

Visionaires

The founding fathers had a vision.
They had a dream
It was a dream they wanted to share with others
After all that is how the US Constitution came about.
I found myself thinking about the founding fathers today.
I went to vote this morning.
This year I did early voting.
I saw many signs for both sides.
As people got in line to vote.
Whoever the person was going to vote for was "The Candidate."
After all they were right.
Then I found myself thinking once again about the founding fathers.
To be such visionairies, follow their dream.
Yes to even write a document that's simple yet profound at the same time.
For that document to withstand the hundreds of years.
Yes I found myself saying outloud the founding fathers had such profound wisdom.
Then I voted for McCain.

Who am I?

This morning as I was driving to work.
I heard a song "Who am I?' from Point of Grace
I must admit I kept thinking of the words off and on all day.
In the song it talks about "Who am I"?
That God would love me?
That Jesus would shed His blood for me?
To be given the gift of the Holy Spirit?
Not to mention the written word.
"Who am I?"
How right there are.
Then I realized that my value and worth does indeed come from God.
I may not always understand it.
One thing is for sure I'm thankful for God.
Grateful for the gift of Jesus.
Thankful for the gift of the Holy-Spirit.
Grateful for the written word.

Pictures

The Hand of God

As I was getting ready to make a call on my cell phone.

I couldn't help but notice the picture.

Come on let's face it most of us have pictures on our cell phones.

The name of the picture on my cell phone is called "The Hand of God".

It has 1 hand reaching up and 1 hand reaching down.

As I went back to work.

I couldn't help but think of the hand that is always reaching down.

Then as much as I might like to admit that my hand is always reaching up. In all honesty I can't say that.

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."

Romans 3:23

"for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever would believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life."

John 3:16

"Every good and perfect gift is from above...."

"Greater is He who is in me than he that is in the world."

Then I found myself thinking of the picture once again.

God's hand reaching down, and my hand reaching up.

I must admit there is not one area in my life that I measure up to.

In fact I fall short in all areas.

Whether I deserve it or not one thing is for sure God's hand is always reaching down.

Okay sometimes he carries me.

All I know is I'm thankful that God's hand is always reaching down to me.

Perservance

As a child of God I must admit there's been rough times along the way.
I can remember when I wondered would I ever see a mountaintop again.
After all it seemed like I went from one valley to another.
Would I see a mountain?

Recently God has been using a very special lady to teach me.
Regardless of how she feels she just continues to minister to others.
This lady rarely asks for anything.
She just goes around encouraging everyone else.

This special lady is the Senior Pastor's wife.
Her right hip causes her a lot of pain.
Yet, she hardly says anything.
Instead of saying much she simply says "Call me anytime".
She will be the one to call you and see how you are doing.
Yet, she needs a hip replacement.
Even when she is in a lot of pain she continues to minister.
She allows people to leave before her.
In fact she will even try to help you.
Yet, she needs surgery.
The most important thing to her is God.
She treasures her relationship with God very much.
She married her high-school sweetheart and the rest is history.
He stands by her side faithfully.
Praying that she was not in so much pain.
Just to see how she ministers to others has taught me so much.
Then again I have been blessed to have her as a sister.
Grateful for her wisdom.
Wanting her to have the surgery.
Wishing that she was not in pain.
Yet this brave lady continues on.

Person of the Week

This week it is indeed a special lady.
Her name is Nancy Alcorn.
She is the founder of Mercy Ministries.
Every step of Mercy Ministries is done by faith.
People come to Mercy with various needs from substance abuse, physical abuse ectra.,...
The ones that come to Mercy must come of their own free will.
They come from all over and all ages.
Most find Jesus at Mercy.
Let's face it you don't have to far to find a person that is hurting.
Every 3 minutes a person goes through abuse.
Along with Godly counseling the ladies come to realize that they do have value.
For at Mercy they learn their value comes from their Heavenly Father, not man.
Let's face it there is such a difference.
Perfection vs. Imperfection
Upon graduation of the program which lasts about 6 months.
Many of the ladies that have been helped answer the call to follow God.
For some its a missionary, yet for others its to be a counselor.
This gives them a chance to help others that are going through what they went through.
They are able to offer them hope.
Above all the Gospel is shared.

You Never Know Part 2

Where I go to Church the Senior Pastor's wife has a favorite saying "You Never Know"
It's easy to think that someone is mad at you when you are getting yelled at right? Wrong?
Just because someone yells at you doesn't mean that person does not like you.
Maybe the person yells at you because he or she actually cares about you.
After all that is what happened to me.
The other person was hurt because they cared.
I was wrong.
I don't mind telling you that I redicated my life to God once again.
It seems like the older I get the more I have to learn.
Once again the Senior Pastor's Wife is right when she said " You never know ".
I must admit I fell short of the mark.
Looks like I'm going to be a lifetime student.
After all there is always something that I can learn from each person.
It reminds me of a song. Don't worry if you havn't heard the song. Its a song that is being practiced where I go to Church.
"We are just a wreck waiting to happen, sin has us out of control."
How true this is.

Let's face it we're not perfect.

Never Too Old

I remember as if it was yesterday praying for my family to grow in their walk with God.

God does indeed answer prayers.

Allow me to set the stage:
-My Father has a tendency to get up early and listen to the swap shop.
That's when people call if they are looking to sell a item or buy a particular item.
That's where my Father got his brand new Lawn Mower.
Okay its used.

While I was at the Computer, I received a blessing.
God received a blessing as well.
I just thought Jesus had to be smiling Himself.

Daddy came home so excited about the brand new Lawn Mower that he just purchased.

In fact Daddy was so excited about the Lawn Mower that he forgot something.

So He called the person he bought the Lawn Mower back on the phone.

After all He just had a couple of questions to ask.

First He wanted to know if they had a home Church they went to?

He would like to invite them to Church.

The Senior Pastor's wife was right as usual when she said "Yvonne, you never know".

If I had been talking and not listening I would have missed the blessing.

Its always a blessing to hear others witness young or old.

I had to stop and thank God for the blessing.

Daddy may be in his 80's but he still witnesses.
He knows the plan of salvation.

I'm thankful that I was here to listen to Him witness over the phone.

When the New Wears Off

Do you remember how excited you was when you got a new car?
I do.
Okay mine was used but it was still new.
It seems like only yesterday .

How many of you have got new pets?
New kittens? New puppy's?

Sure most of us have.
It seems like only yesterday.
We recently got a new puppy.
His name is Blackie and does he love attention.
He is part lab/part chow.

We got Blackie shortly before Christmas last year.
He is so cute just coal black.
So we both slept in the den.
I slept in a Recliner and Blackie slept at my feet.
Which I must admit was one of my favorite memories.

So as luck would have it I'm a sound sleeper.
During the middle of night Blackie had to go to the bathroom.
You guessed it Blackie had to wake me up multiple times.
Needless to say I ended up with scratch marks on my face, nose, arms.
I know Blackie was just trying to wake me up.

When Blackie couldn't wake me up I had a mess to clean up.
When I woke up Blackie would just look at me.
As if to say its about time you woke up.
I've been trying for awhile now.

Now Blackie is 6 months old and He sure has grown.

My has Blackie gotten big and yes Blackie is still a puppy just not so small.
He can jump almost to my head and yes he still loves to lick.

My Father recently got a New Riding Lawn Mower.
Okay its not new.
Still its New to my Father.
So He is going to take real good care of it.
After all its new even thought its used.
To Daddy its New.

So what seems to happen when the new does wear off?
What causes it to be treated any differently?
Was it not new?

Remember when you got saved?
God does.
The Angels had a party in Heaven just for you.
The Angels love to celebrate.
I remember when I go saved.
I remember asking questions about scripture?
I often heard the remark "Oh you are a new Christian."
Even though I heard it. That didn't mean I understood it.
So far I've been a Christian for 17 years.
God still loves to hear my voice.
So whether you have been saved 50 years or 1 day.
God's love for you is the same.
Jesus love for you is the same.
Holy-Spirit's love for you is the same.
With God the new never wears off.
With Jesus the new never wears off.
With the Holy-Spirit the new never wears off.

You are just as precious to them today as you were when you asked Jesus into your heart.
Remember with God the new never wears off.
God loves to hear your voice for it is still new to God.

"He sends His love." quote from Point of Grace

Folds of an American Flag

First of all I would like to take the opportunity to say Thank-you to everyone who is a Veteran.

The Folds of the American Flag
Author: Anonymous

Our Flag and Do you know?

Do you know that at military funerals, the 21 gun salute stands for the sum of the numbers in the year 1776?

Have you noticed that the honor guard pays meticulous attention to correctly folding the American flag 13 times? You probably thought it was to symbolize the original 13 colonies.

the 1st Fold of our Flag is a symbol of life.

The 2nd Fold is a symbol of our belief in eternal life.

The 3rd Fold is made in honor and remembrance of the Veterans departing our ranks who gave a porion of their lives for the defense of our Country to attain peace throughout the world.

The 4th Fold represents our weaker nature, for as American Citizens trusting in God, it is to Him we turn in times of peace as well as in war for His divine guidance.

The 5th Fold is a tribute to our Country, for in the words of Stephen Decatur, "Our Country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right; but it is still our Country, right or wrong."

The 6th Fold is for where our hearts lie. It is with our heart that we pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and the Republic for which it stands, One Nation under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.

The 7th Fold is a tribute to our Armed forces, for it is through the Armed Forces that we protect our Country and our Flag against all her enemies, whether they may be found within or without the boundaries of our republic.

The 8th Fold is a tribute to the one who entered into the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of the day.

The 9th Fold is a tribute to our womanhood, and Mothers, for it has been through their faith, their love, loyalty and devotion that the character of the men and women who have made this country great has been molded.

The 10th Fold is a tribute to the Father, for he too has given his sons and daughters for the defense of our country since they were first born.

The 11th Fold represents the lower portion of the seal of king Solomon and glorifies in the Hebrew's eyes, the God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob.

The 12th Fold represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in the Christian's eyes, God and Father, Son and Holy Spirit

The 13th Fold or when the Flag is completely folded, the Stars are uppermost reminding us of our nation's motto "In God We Trust."

After the Flag is completely folded and tucked in, it takes on the appearance of a cocked hat, ever reminding us of the soldiers who served under General George Washington, and the Sailors and Marines who served under Captain John Paul Jones, who were followed by their comrades and shipmates in the Armed forces of the United States, preserving for us the rights, privileges and freedoms we enjoy today.

There are some traditions and ways of doing things that are meaningful. In the future, you'll see flags and now you will know why.

The Impact of Prayer part 1

It seems like only yesterday that we met at the Church to pray.
God has indeed blessed us.
Our cup runneth over.
We went from 1 service to 2.
Lost 1 Pastor only to be blessed by another Pastor.
Another Pastor answered the call finally to be a Missionary.
Yet I found myself "God, wait let me catch up."
God was pouring the blessings out from the East, West, North, and South.
We opened a coffee shop.
Attendance has continued to grow.
More people have started doing Care Groups.
More people are involved in Care Groups.
People have gotten saved on a regular basis .
Pastors have been baptizing people on a regular basis.
Still we grow.
I may not know everything that takes place in the Heavenly realms.
I know that Prayer Works
"The Prayer of a Righteous Man availeth much."

The Impact of Prayer part 2

Years ago the Senior Pastor along with His wife felt God had laid a burden on them.
To reach people that were far from Christ.
Night after Night they prayed.
They remained faithful.
The Senior Pastor had a Bible class.
This allowed him to put on paper what God laid on His heart.
They fasted on a regular basis.
They started praying in homes for about 6 months.
6 months later a big Sister Church called and met with him.
They left and went to the Parent Church.
After a little over a year at out Parent Church.
The time had finally come to put into action what God had laid on His heart so many years ago.
Was it a dream?
Was it reality?
Well it turned out to be a reality for so much time was spent in Prayer.
Now 2 1/2 years later we have started raising money for The Church.
God blessed the Church in abundance with land and resources.
Hard to believe that next week will be First-Fruits Sunday.
Especially after setting up and tearing down on a regular basis.
Yet as I sit here reflecting on where has the time gone?
I remember something the Senior Pastor's wife once said. "We prayed and cried and prayed cause it hurt too much."
As a result of their obedience and faithfulness.
I've been blessed to hear:
"People say if it had not been for the Senior Pastor and his wife I would not have a Church home."
Folks I have heard many say that.
It reminds me of "The harvest is plenty, but the workers are few."
